Jury deciding fate of Norfolk man charged with NSU student murder
The jury deadlocked on the charge of malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Cameron Brown had been charged with first-degree murder of 20-year-old Jahari George, who was fatally shot on Sept. 2, 2023 while sitting in a parked car with three friends on Gatehouse Road near the Spartan Suites residence.
The verdict comes after a four-day trial, where a known friend of Brown, 17-year-old Anthony Pugh, testified, stating that Brown admitted to killing George while showing off the weapon, a Glock 26 which was never recovered. Pugh testified that Brown said, “I’ve got to get rid of it.”
