One seriously hurt following fire on Birmingham Ave. in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)– Crews in Norfolk responded to a fire that left a person seriously hurt.

According to officials, crews were called to the 100 block of Birmingham Ave at 6:39 a.m. for the report of a fire at an apartment complex. Crews quickly put water on the fire and marked it out at 6:50 a.m.

Officials said one person was removed from the apartment fire and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in very critical condition.

Two occupants are now displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross…
