Hampton man charged in shooting that left man injured, homes and cars damaged

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police have arrested a man in connection with a July shooting at the intersection of Diggs Drive and Greenwell Drive that injured one man and damaged nearby homes and vehicles.

On July 22, officers responded around 8:05 p.m. to a report of a shooting. They found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was traveling eastbound on Greenwell Drive and was making a right turn to proceed south on Diggs Drive when his vehicle was struck by gunfire. In addition to the victim’s vehicle, two parked unoccupied vehicles and residences were also struck by gunfire but no other injuries were reported.

Jayden Bonds, 20, has been charged with four counts of destruction of property, two counts each of attempt maiming and shooting into occupied dwelling, one count each of maiming, shooting into occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, shooting in public and shoot across the roadway…
