(WAVY) — Crews at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel expansion project said their project has met many milestones in late-2025.
Before opening the South Trestle on Sunday morning, teams started disassembling the cutterhead of ‘Mary the Boring’ machine.
“A 600-ton crane and a 300-ton crane worked in tandem lifted the 280-ton cutterhead out of the receiving pit and onto the HRBT South Island,” said project officials in a press release.
