Virginia Beach, VA – Residents along the coastal Virginia region could see their first glimpse of wintry weather early Monday morning as a strong cold front sweeps across the Tidewater area, according to the National Weather Service in Wakefield.
Forecast Overview
Clouds will thicken Sunday afternoon, followed by steady rain after sunset as the front moves east. Late Sunday night into early Monday, colder air will rush in, producing a brief window of rain changing to wet snow, mainly north and inland from Virginia Beach.
Surface temperatures near freezing may lead to slick bridges and overpasses, but widespread accumulation is not expected.
Monday Morning Conditions
“This is more of a sign of the seasonal shift than a major snow event,” forecasters noted, warning that elevated surfaces may glaze over briefly before sunrise.
By Monday morning, the precipitation will taper off, but brisk northwest winds up to 25 mph will make it feel much colder. Temperatures will fall into the 40s, with windchill values in the 30s during the morning commute.
Veterans Day and Week Ahead
Skies will clear by Veterans Day, offering sunshine but continued chill. Those attending parades or outdoor events should dress warmly, as the breeze will make it feel near freezing early in the day…
