PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A jury found a man guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal 2022 shooting of a woman on Virginia Avenue, the Portsmouth Commonwealth’s Attorney Office said.
Jashaun Lee Richardson, 24, was found guilty of second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of murder by a jury Nov. 7 after a three-day trial in Portsmouth Circuit Court.
The conviction is connection to the Jan. 14, 2022 homicide of Shakere Lanae Hines, 26, of Hampton. Around 1:34 a.m., Portsmouth Police responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue, and when officers arrived, they found Hines with a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene…
