TSA to charge flyers without proper ID $45 starting in February

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — For air travelers tired of being nickeled and dimed by added fees, the latest additional charge will be the equivalent of 900 nickels, or 450 dimes.

The Transportation Security Administration will require a $45 fee for flyers without Real ID, a valid passport, military ID or several other forms of identification.

Beginning February 1, if you still don’t have Real I-D you will have an option to fly called “Confirm I-D.” You’ll have to pay the $45 fee before you enter the security line. The fee is non-refundable and it’s good for just 10 days.
