NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A 25-year-old man was found guilty of robbery by threat, using a firearm in the commission of robbery and extortion on Nov. 14 after robbing a bank teller by passing her a threatening note, according to the Norfolk Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Lemar Antonio Veale Jr. entered into the Truist Bank on East Little Creek Road around 9:30 a.m. stating that he had a gun and that he would harm people inside the bank if he did not receive $100,000 on Oct. 8, 2024. The teller pressed the silent alarm, alerting Norfolk Police, and gave Veale $36,500, says the CA’s office.
Officers arrived as Veale was pulling off and employees at the banks alerted police to his black Toyota Camry. Police chased Veale but he was able to drive away…
