North Carolina man sentenced for trafficking cocaine in package to Portsmouth

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A North Carolina man has received a 10-year sentence for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation that shipped a package containing cocaine from San Diego to Portsmouth, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Court documents determined 41-year-old Kareem Akeem McMurrin and another person conspired to ship a package containing 10 kilograms of cocaine from San Diego to Portsmouth.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said law enforcement investigators intercepted a package containing 10 kilograms of cocaine on Feb. 5. The cocaine was removed from the package, and McMurrin retrieved it upon delivery…
