Norfolk homeless shelter over capacity from cold

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Center homeless shelter in Norfolk has been at max capacity for over a week now and is seeking help from the community.

The shelter, which offers temporary housing and services for the homeless, began experiencing max capacity after the city of Norfolk issued a winter overflow warning last week.

10 On Your Side spoke with the programs manager for outreach, Marla Robinson. She says she’s never seen the seen the shelter so full this time of the year. Despite this, she says no one will be turned away…
