Good Sunday morning! We are in for a wild day! Temperatures will plunge to dangerously cold levels, but we will see a warm-up later this week.
A powerful cold front is in the process of moving through this morning. Behind it, winds will pick up, temperatures will drop, and rain will transition to snow.

Starting with the snow, most locations will pick up a dusting around half an inch or less on grassy and elevated surfaces. We could see isolated locations across the middle peninsula and far inland closer to I-95 pick up around 1″ snow. Snow showers end early this afternoon.
Onto the arctic air, the most dramatic drop to dangerous cold will happen 5-8 PM. With wind gusts upwards of 40 MPH along the coast and 30 MPH inland, temperatures gradually drop throughout the day.
Early this afternoon, temps will be in the mid 30s, feeling like the lower 20s. Around 5 PM, temps will be around 30°, feeling like the upper teens. By 8 PM, temps will be in the mid 20s, feeling like 4°.
This level of cold can give someone with exposed skin outside for a prolonged period of time hypothermia. If you have to be outside, make sure you are entirely covered up in many warm layers. Make sure pets are inside this evening through Monday morning while we are in this dangerous cold period. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 PM Sunday – 9 AM Monday.
Winds will gradually die down throughout Monday, but it will still be cold. Feeling like the single digits Monday morning, warming to the mid 30s Monday afternoon. At least we’ll be dry with plenty of sunshine.
