VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — As Robert Frost wrote in ‘Mending Wall,’ good fences make good neighbors, but in one Kempsville neighborhood, a fence taken down makes angry neighbors.
Some neighbors on Glenville Circle have a new concern with safety after a homeowner took down a fence instead of repairing it, exposing them to loud traffic noise on Kempsville Road.
“We really just want the fence back up to prevent all the random foot traffic going through where our homes are. They took the fence down November 1, 2024, and since then there has been a bicycle stolen. A small child walked through where the fence was and onto Kempsville Road. Random foot traffic like a drunk guy that was knocking on doors at 3 or 4 in the morning,” explained one concerned neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified…
