Man sentenced to 12 years for Portsmouth killing

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the shooting death of a man in Portsmouth two years ago.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old Darrio Mundon was an innocent bystander hit by a bullet as two groups of men fired at each other in the London Oaks apartment complex.

Prosecutors said surveillance footage from the area served as a critical piece of evidence during Ja’Marion Williams’ trial earlier this year. It showed Williams running through the breezeway with a gun in his hand, directly through an area later determined to contain multiple spent shell casings…
