NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was sentenced Wednesday to 13 years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm after prosecutors said he pursued and targeted another man following an encounter at a convenience store.
Arthur Julius Cherry, 38, was convicted of attempting to kill another individual from a Norfolk convenience store on Jan. 21, 2023, according to court documents.
Authorities said Cherry followed the victim in his vehicle and fired when the vehicle came to a stop. The intended target avoided being struck by ducking, but the victim’s brother was shot in the back…
