‘Ma’am, your house is on fire’: Neighbor credited for saving Chesapeake woman from house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters are crediting a fast-acting neighbor following an overnight fire in the Camelot section of Chesapeake.

According to officials, fire crews were called to the 2600 block of Powell Circle just after 4 a.m. for the report of a residential fire. Crews arrived on scene within six minutes of the call and encountered smoke and visible flames coming from the home.

Prior to firefighters arrival, a nearby neighbor noticed the fire and took action.
