At 22, Virginia Beach woman faces end-stage kidney failure, seeks transplant

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — At just 22 years old, Carri Game was focused on living a normal life until a routine doctor’s visit in early September changed everything.

Game went to the doctor believing she needed glasses because she was having trouble seeing. Instead, doctors discovered her blood pressure was dangerously high and immediately sent her to the emergency room.

“She couldn’t see, so I thought she needed glasses,” said Carri Game’s mother, Cheryl Muegge. “When we got there, her blood pressure was off the hook. They sent us to the emergency room, and by nine in the morning, she had end-stage kidney failure — both kidneys. It was shocking.”…
