VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The man accused of stealing a vehicle with a 5-year-old child inside of it in Virginia Beach said in a jailhouse interview he doesn’t recall doing it.
10 On Your Side interviewed Devron Thomas in an interview room at the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office, where he claimed he had blacked out on some type of drugs at the time, but was vague about what type, mentioning something about prescription drugs.
Thomas claimed he doesn’t recall anything until he was stopped in Rockbridge County.

“What I will say is … that the charges that are put against me is not in my character, nor would be in my character at all whatsoever,” Thomas said. “I have no idea, no explanation of why. As you can hear me talking, I’m very cognitive and cognizant of what I’m saying and what I say.”…
