Virginia Beach Rents Are Going Up

Rents in the Virginia Beach–Chesapeake–Norfolk metro won’t ease up going into 2026.

The Realtor.com® November 2025 Rental Report shows that asking rents in the region are now higher than they were a year ago, placing the beach community at odds with the broader national rental cooldown.

As prices aren’t moving in a renter-friendly direction, affordability remains a concern for many households, especially those who migrated to the area during the pandemic.
