NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — While Hampton Roads felt a dip in temperatures Monday evening, a wave of winter weather across the Midwest and Northeast triggered a massive ripple effect at airports nationwide.
According to the tracking site FlightAware, Norfolk International Airport (ORF) saw 46 delays and two cancellations as of late Monday. The disruptions were largely attributed to heavy snow and high winds in other areas.
By Monday evening, the Federal Aviation Administration had also implemented a ground stop at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York due to heavy winds. Nationwide, FlightAware reported more than 25,000 delays and 1,300 cancellations throughout the day…
