PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Each day crews are not working to install the 176-turbine Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project 27 miles east of Virginia Beach, another $5 million gets added to the overall cost, according to Dominion Energy.
As of Jan. 8, that would mean the $11.2 billion cost has risen by approximately $85 million.
However, a policy wonk who has studied the project since its infancy said that amount could be peanuts compared to what could happen if the project is delayed for a long period of time, or is shelved altogether.
