Chesapeake man sentenced to over 7 years for attempting to receive 3 kilograms of cocaine

NORFOLK, Va. — A Chesapeake man has been sentenced to seven years and four months in federal prison after attempting to receive a package containing more than three kilograms of cocaine.

Kevin Russell Beasley, 51, was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, law enforcement intercepted the shipment from California on Nov. 1, 2024. Authorities set up a controlled delivery to an address in Portsmouth. Beasley went to pick up the package and was arrested immediately…
