NORFOLK, Va. — Local artists and organizations are recreating a 1989 music video that’s meant to encourage the community to stop violence.
Almost 40 years ago, hip-hop acts like KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte, and more came together for a song called “Self-Destruction” to address what they called violence in hip-hop and African American communities.
