CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Two cats were unaccounted for after a Chesapeake home undergoing renovations caught fire Monday evening.
Firefighters responded to the 900 block of Pine Level Lane at around 9:20 p.m. following multiple reports from residents of a house on fire.
Upon arrival, crews observed a two-story residence with heavy fire showing through the roof. They initially applied water from the exterior of the home due to the extent of fire involvement and structural conditions. Crews were able to advance hoselines into the structure to complete extinguishment.
Fire officials said the homeowners were not present during the incident. The family, which consists of two adults and three children, are currently staying at another location nearby…
