VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Crews in Virginia Beach responded to a house fire in the Newlight section of the city Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, units were dispatched to a house fire in the 1400 block of Ferry Point Road at 4:19 p.m. When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed. Crews had water on the fire by 4:24 p.m., marking it under control at 4:52 p.m.
Firefighters rescued a woman from the home, turning her over to EMS for treatment and transport. Officials say the woman is in critical condition after suffering from smoke inhalation. Two dogs were also rescued and treated.
