Gunman robs York Co. Kroger; suspect arrested after police chase

GRAFTON, Va. (WAVY) – A 65-year-old Hampton man was arrested Wednesday after deputies said he threatened a grocery store employee with a gun during a robbery at a Kroger on George Washington Memorial Highway.

Winston Tracy Lewis faces a felony robbery charge following the Jan. 28 incident.

Investigators with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office used automated license plate recognition technology to locate Lewis hours after he allegedly fled the store with a cart of stolen merchandise.
