7 Hampton Roads mayors pen letter asking to keep collective bargaining decisions at the local level

NORFOLK, Va. — Proposed legislation in Richmond could allow Virginia public employees across the state to engage in collective bargaining.

In response to the proposed bill, every mayor in Hampton Roads signed off on a letter asking the Virginia General Assembly to “maintain the existing framework that allows local governments, not the state, to decide whether and when to implement collective bargaining.”
