VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach city leaders are taking a formal step to honor the indigenous tribes who first called this region home.
A special ceremony was held at Virginia Beach City Hall on Thursday to unveil a new land acknowledgment statement plaque, which will now be permanently displayed in the building lobby.
