Man accused of Virginia Beach shooting last October waives right to preliminary hearing

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A new development today in a shooting case we first reported on in October.

Malik Brown, the man accused of shooting another man multiple times on Village Drive, appeared in Virginia Beach General District Court on Friday morning and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

By doing so, the case now moves forward without prosecutors having to present evidence at that stage. Waiving a preliminary hearing is a procedural step and does not mean an admission of guilt…
