The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) connects Hampton Roads to Virginia’s Eastern Shore, with over 17 miles of road allowing drivers to travel across the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.
Between 3.5 to 4 million drivers cross the CBBT per year, according to a 2023 study.
