VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police said the use of ShotSpotter technology led to the arrest of a man Wednesday in connection to a shooting earlier this week on Providence Road.
Christopher Riley Anderson, 37, has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding after police said a man was shot in the 6300 block of Providence Road Feb. 24. Virginia Beach Police responded to the call at 5:26 p.m. and said a man was found with an apparent gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
Anderson was arrested the day after the shooting by VBPD’s fugitive apprehension squad and had a gun on him when he was arrested, though police say he had been convicted previously of seven felonies.
Besides aggravated malicious wounding, Anderson has been charged with shooting at an occupied vehicle, reckless handing with injury, firearm by felon, concealed handgun and using a firearm in the commission of a felony…
