PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A kitchen fire at a fast food restaurant in Portsmouth was quickly contained on Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 10 a.m., Portsmouth Fire and Chesapeake Fire crews were called to the KFC/Taco Bell combo restaurant in the 5000 block of George Washington Highway for reports of a fire inside a business. When firefighters got there, they saw smoke coming from the building and found an active fire in the kitchen.
Firefighters entered the building and began extinguishing the fire. The fire was under control within about 10 minutes. Officials say the flames were contained to the piece of equipment where the fire started…
