Gov. Spanberger: More jobs coming to Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – New job opportunities are coming to Portsmouth. Governor Abigail Spanberger recently announced the city is investing $10.5 million in (WAAM) operations in the city, opening up 53 new jobs.

Radian Forge specializes in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), a digital metal manufacturing process that uses advanced 3D printing technology in the shipbuilding industry.

Governor Spanberger expressed an optimistic outlook for the partnership; “Radian Forge’s decision to expand in Hampton Roads highlights the region’s competitiveness, deep industry expertise, and long‑standing role in supporting our national security. Virginia’s workforce is prepared to meet the needs of our defense industry. Radian Forge’s expansion in Portsmouth will create good‑paying jobs in a community that is so integral to the strength of our Navy.”…
