Legislators react to ODU shooting at roundtable

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Members of Congress gathered Friday in Virginia Beach at the Navy League roundtable, but in light of the tragic events at Old Dominion University the day before, lawmakers shared their reaction to the violence.

“The thing that makes me possibly the most furious is why a person that had terrorist connections like that was allowed to be walking the streets of Hampton Roads,” said Rep. Jen Kiggans (R). “We have so many military members, people who were out in town in uniform, military families. We have so many bases here. I worry about the safety of our military families, our military personnel and our local bases.”
