Fire onboard Norfolk-based carrier USS Gerald R. Ford under review

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Navy calls the Norfolk-based aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford the most lethal combat platform, but in the past few days, as the carrier plays a major role in Operation Epic Fury, there was a call for help aboard CVN-78.

According to the New York Times, it took more than 30 hours to extinguish a fire that started in a dryer vent.
