Man sentenced to 20 years after pleading guilty to Norfolk shooting in 2025

A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in a fatal shooting from 2025 on Friday, according to the Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

On January 15, 2025, at around 11 p.m., Lamont Whitaker, 25, and his girlfriend were driving home after spending the evening at a shooting range and having dinner. The couple began shouting in the car and continued to argue until they reached the front door of the property on Green Leaf Drive.

While walking near the street, 23-year-old Miyett Antwione Little Jr. overheard the argument and approached Whitaker. Whitaker shot Little ten times following a brief talk. Whitaker then called 911, claimed to be the shooter, and was held when authorities arrived…
