NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — An official cause of death has been confirmed for a 39-year-old Norfolk woman, whose body was found in a kitchen freezer.
Family of Lina Guerra says husband is man charged with her murder, NPD says he is not in custody
According to Norfolk Police, Lina Guerra’s body was discovered inside an apartment at The Icon Norfolk on East Main Street. An international manhunt is underway for her husband, David Varela, who fled to Hong Kong the day after she was reported missing on Feb. 4.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has now confirmed that Guerra died from blunt head trauma and asphyxiation.
