Old Dominion shooting refuels debate about students divulging criminal pasts

ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Last week’s fatal shooting on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia has refueled the debate about whether public colleges and universities in the Commonwealth should be allowed to ask incoming students about their criminal histories.

The gunman in the March 12 shooting, 36-year-old Mohamed Jalloh, shot and killed ROTC instructor Lt. Col. Brandon Shah and wounded two students.
