VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach welcomed three new animals Tuesday, according to a press release.
A Virginia opossum named Willow, a striped skunk named Maple and a spectacled owl named Mahogany joined the aquarium as part of its Animal Ambassador program. The program features the aquarium’s animals who participate in pop-up programs on the gallery floor, daily presentations and education programs. The program currently has 25 animals.
The public can meet these ambassadors through the aquarium’s new behind-the-scenes tour of the Bob & Leslie Fort Animal Ambassador Center, which is where the animals live. Tickets for the weekly tours are $50 for members and $55 for the general public.
