HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — While a 14-year-old girl faces several charges following an overnight crash in Hampton that injured both the driver and a toddler in the car, a source told 10 On Your Side Tuesday that the case is still in its early stages.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred just after 2 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Hampton. State Police said a silver sedan went off the right side of the interstate and struck the guardrail. The sedan then went off the left side of the interstate and struck the jersey wall. There were no publicly accessible documents filed in court when 10 On Your Side went to the Hampton courthouse on Tuesday.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 14-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
