VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A young harp seal found resting along the Virginia Beach shoreline is now receiving specialized care after being rescued by local marine response teams.
The Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response team said it received a call last week about a seal hauled out near the Lesner Bridge. After a short observation period to assess the animal’s condition, responders deployed to the scene and transported the seal to the Darden Marine Animal Conservation Center for evaluation.
