NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder for the 2023 killing of a woman inside a Peterson Street rooming house.
32-year-old Demetrios Bryant was found guilty last October after jurors viewed security footage showing the attack, which occurred on Dec. 28, 2023. Prosecutors said Bryant assaulted 54-year-old Michelle Antionette Ford-Outlaw inside their shared home, using a glass bottle and later a knife, killing her.
Family members arrived minutes after the assault, discovered Ford-Outlaw, and called 911. Bryant, who was still at the home, was detained by another roommate until Norfolk police arrived.
