VBFD: 1 treated for smoke inhalation after garage fire on Darga Drive

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)– One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a garage fire Thursday morning on Darga Drive, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

Units with Virginia Beach Fire Department, Emergency Management Services and Virginia Beach Police Department were dispatched to the 5000 block of Darga Drive for a reported residential structure fire at approximately 6:50 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke coming from two detached residential garages. Fire officials said radiant heat did affect multiple other structures, but there was no extension into residential structures.

Crews had water on the fire at 6:58 a.m., marked it under control at 7:17 a.m. and marked it out at 7:38 a.m…
