VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A firefighter was injured after a balcony fire at Marina Shores Apartments in Virginia Beach Saturday morning, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
On April 11 at around 2:12 a.m., the department and EMS units were dispatched to a reported fire at the apartment building. When crews arrived to the scene at 2:16 a.m., they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from a balcony on the first floor. Firefighters had water on the fire by 2:20 a.m., marked it under control by 2:24 a.m. and marked it out by 2:36 a.m.
No residents or pets were injured or displaced due to the fire. One firefighter was left with a minor injury.
