PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Rachael Copeland has a need to feed.
She’s on a roll right now, or rather, roll duty. It’s all part of the second annual community feeding at Cooper’s Restaurant in Portsmouth, and while the meal is different this year, the reason behind it hasn’t changed.
“Last year, in November, when we had the first government shutdown, God really laid it on my heart that, as a restaurant, I could step in and fill the gap and help people,” Copeland said. “So on a whim, I told my husband what I wanted to do, and he looked at me like I was crazy and, begrudgingly agreed to it.”…
