North Carolina man sentenced to 12 years for drug trafficking, firearms offenses

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A North Carolina man was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, according to the Department of Justice.

Court documents show that on June 4, 2024, law enforcement conducted a controlled purchase of 14.16 grams of methamphetamine and 1.18 grams of fentanyl from 23-year-old Donjuan Murphy in Virginia Beach.
