Chesapeake residential fire displaces three families

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A residential structure fire occurred Saturday near the Portlock section of Chesapeake, according to officials.

Chesapeake Fire Department crews were on scene on Saturday. Firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of Muddy Creek Road after receiving calls from neighbors reporting the blaze.

While units were en route, crews saw heavy black smoke from a distance, prompting the dispatch of a second alarm.

Chesapeake Battalion 1 arrived on scene within minutes and reported a three-story multifamily residential structure fire that was showing from the center unit.
