CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Since the nationwide school bus driver shortage started during COVID, students in the region have been feeling real impacts, including a Chesapeake family who says their son’s school bus has been late every day for the past two years.
“It’s supposed to get there at like 8:10, 8:15 [a.m.],” said 10th grader Jimmy Tarkenton Monday. “It didn’t get there until after 9 [a.m.] today.”
When asked what time class started, he said, “8:55. I walked in there today and people were like halfway through a quiz. So I didn’t get there until like 9:20. It’s late every day, but today, it really pushed it.”…
