VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Smokey Bones barbecue chain, which had two remaining locations in Hampton Roads, in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, abruptly shut down all of its restaurants this week.
WAVY sent a photographer to the Virginia Beach location in Pembroke Square on Wednesday, April 29.
As of Wednesday early afternoon, the company’s website still listed 20 restaurants still in operation across eight states: Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia.
