Norfolk plans for multi-story exterior wraps to shield MacArthur Center transformation

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — In an effort to camouflage upcoming redevelopment projects downtown, the City of Norfolk is looking to install multi-story exterior wraps around building facades.

In a Request for Proposals, the city’s economic development department said the large-scale architectural building wraps will be used to help communicate “civic pride through art and culture” as the demolition of MacArthur Center moves forward.

The selected contractor must be able to fabricate and install the wraps complete with the city selected artwork by June 17 and be able to maintain the wraps as long as they are up…
