Hampton – Gunfire erupted during a carjacking in Hampton late Wednesday night, injuring two DoorDash delivery drivers in the 100 block of Tyler Street.[1] The attack occurred around 10:43 p.m., and police quickly descended on the scene near Hampton University. The stolen vehicle has not been recovered, heightening concerns in the community.
The Sequence of Events
Officers responded to reports of a shooting and carjacking shortly after 10:43 p.m. One victim stood outside the vehicle when the assailants approached and opened fire.[1] The driver transported that individual to a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, the passenger remained inside the car during the confrontation. Authorities later found that person in the nearby 300 block of Woodland Road, also suffering from a gunshot injury.[1] Suspects fled with the vehicle, leaving both victims to seek medical attention. No description of the perpetrators or the car has emerged publicly yet.
Victims Identified as Delivery Workers
